This helmet has arrived and we are pleased to announce that it will be available to view, handle and pre-order at Balingup Medieval Festival on August 22nd.
The Norman skull cap is from a time where plate metal was expensive and a sign of great wealth. With that in mind, its minimalist functionality protected only the most essential parts of the head while making a grand statement.
Even today the traditional spangen construction joined with the luxurious leather lining and chin strap will ensure that all who see this helmet will know your worth.
Skull caps would have been worn with a camail or coif over thick padding providing good protection from all but the most fearsome of blows.
This helmet will be available is three sizes and made from robust 14 gauge steel.
The leather lining and suspension padding can be adjusted for comfort and size.
