PROTOTYPE Full Faced Norman

PROTOTYPE Full Faced Norman
Item# PHFULLN

Product Description

This helmet has arrived and we are pleased to announce that it will be available to view, handle and pre-order at Balingup Medieval Festival on August 22nd.

Gracing the head of some of the most fearsome warriors of the 12th Century, this Full Faced Norman helmet was one of the first helms to provide full face protection. The Normans were famed for their fighting exploits from France through to Sicily and this helm is one example of a defining mark of that time.

The face is (accurately) riveted to a spangen skull cap and would have been worn with a mail coif or skirt attached to the back of the helmet.

This helm has a number of exciting features:

*It is made from robust 14 gauge steel, ensuring that it will (well could at least) survive long after your ship burial.

*It comes lined in leather with suspension padding for comfort and support with a buckle chin strap, so it's ready to go after just a few minor adjuctments to the suspension padding.
