Shipping Policy
If your item is in stock, then it will be shipped within 5 days of recipt of full payment. If your item is on order then it will be shipped within 5 days of it clearing customs.
Refund Policy
If we make a mistake with your order we will gladly refund you they cost of the item if you chose to cancel your order and return the wrong item.
Returns Policy
Historic Armouries will accept returns if the item is defective or other than advertised. We cannot provide a 100% guarentee that armour bought is the best for your individual body shape unless otherwise stated by us. Some armour will require fitting by you. We can advise you but we cannot specificially tailor a suit. We are a munitions armour clearing house, and try and cater for generic body types.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel an off-the-shelf product before the item is shipped, Historic Armouries shall provide a full refund. If you cancel a pre-ordered item (like mail shirts), Historic Armouries reserves the right to withhold / keep your 50% deposit, unless it is for a reason stated previous.
Historic Armouries cannot refund money on a shipped item that is not defective, only if it is other than you ordered

Why do you have a US price and an AU price?
The easy answer is that our website is hosted through Yahoo USA as Yahoo Australia doesn't offer a merchant web service. Yahoo USA cannot change the currency type that they collect in. As a consequence, if you buy through the website via Paypal it must be in US dollars.
Because of currency fluctuations between the USA & Australia, we change the US price to reflect the current exchange rate. That way you will always be paying the same (or very close) to the Australian dollar price. Exchange rates vary from hour to hour though so the US price will never be 100% the same as AU price (sometimes cheaper, sometimes more expensive).
Q: Can your armour be used for SCA combat?
A: Some of the armour can be used for SCA combat. We suggest you check the item description or let us know what you intend to use it for, we will be happy to advise you about each piece.
Q: Is your armour based on historic patterns?
A: Many of our pieces are, for example, our 14th C legs are based on a pair found at Churbourg dating from circa 1350 AD. Others are designed for re-enactment/re-creation groups specific armour minimuns. Next to each piece should be a brief history and examples of historical pieces that the armour is based on.
Q: Where do you get your armour made?
A: Most of our armour is made in India to our specifications or patterns.
Q: Is child labour used in construction of your armour?
A: No. Our workshops in India have assured us that they do not condone the use of child labour and are part of a voluntary Indian government initative to ensure child labour is not used.
Q: Are you re-enactors?
A: Yes. Between the three of us we have close to 50 years of re-enacting experience in both metal weapons groups, SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) and other medieval-life organisations.
Q: Why are your prices so low?
A: Our aim is to provide re-enactors and re-creationists with affordable munitions grade armour.
Q: Will your armour break?
A: We have tried to design our armour to be good enough that with minimal maintenance and normal wear and tear you could still be using it in ten years.
Q: Can I buy a gift voucher?
A: Yes, we offer gift vouchers, just e-mail one of us to ask how.
Q: Can I get a discount?
A: We are already the cheapest armourers we know of and are unable to provide additional discounts unless they are part of a starter kit / set kit price.
