This is an example of a fully articulated knee produced in the 15th Century.
Although we have named it a"five" piece knee, it really has seven componant parts.
There is the central cop with two upper and two lower lames (which maked five) and a demi-cuisse on the top and a demi-greeve on the bottom (the greeve and cuisse can be considered different armour to the knee).
They are made from robust 16 gauge (1.6mm) steel and comes as a pair
