Product Description
Annular brooches are the one thing that is common to all medieval people and can be dated back through the Celtic, Roman and Greek times right to the beginnings of our using clothes. They may have been the advanced version of sticking a piece of bone through leather to hold it together for our pre-historic ancestors.
These brooches are hand crafted from iron with a iron pin.
All three would be graceful on any garb that they were placed, for men, women and children.
Brooch 1 - measures about 4.5cm across. Brooch 2 and 3 - measures about 6.5cm across.
An annular brooch is useful in holding two (or more) pieces of material together, usually over a shoulder. You hold the pieces of material together and then push the pin through (you can pre-make a hole to prevent excessive damage). The pin is then manoeuvred so that it is resting over the circular part of the brooch.
