This buckler is indicative of the type use in the 16th/17th century by men engaged in city fighting.
This doesn't mean the sieging of cities, but men (usually middle class or upper) who would engage each other in cities with buckler and sword.
Sometimes this is called Fencing or Swashbuckling, the terms vary.
This fine buckler is made from robust 16 gauge (1.6mm) steel and has a rolled edge for extra strength and a shaped steel hand grip.
